74% of CEOs are concerned about the availability of key skills (PwC) and two in ten CEO’s fear their global firms will be unviable in 10 years due to skill gaps (The Guardian). Every company is experiencing a skills crisis. As the global workforce shrinks, talent shortages are hitting a 17-year high (Manpower Group). In totality, over 1 billion workers will need to be reskilled by 2030. Skill gaps will continue to worsen. This is a fundamental issue that won’t go away. No employer is immune.

Simply was founded in 2016 by people analytics and workforce planning experts Simon Haines (CEO) and John Guy (COO). Victoria Hodson joined as Chair as the business grew. Our team are pioneers and innovators in people analytics with over two decades experience, who are dedicated to providing a competitive advantage to our clients. Simon is a pioneer in the field of People Analytics with over 25 years’ experience across technology, consulting and human capital. He has spent his career delivering innovation and change through consultancy and technology to corporate leaders across industries around the world. Prior to founding Simply, Simon conceived, founded and led Deloitte’s People Analytics business in the UK and led their Workforce Planning business worldwide. Simon is a regular speaker and guest lecturer, and passionate about the potential for insight and technology to benefit businesses, workers and society as a whole.

Chief Operating Officer

John is an expert in workforce planning. As COO and Product Director, he collaborates with business leaders, partners and customers to bring innovative, novel solutions to business and workforce challenges. He draws on practical in-house and consultancy experience, including planning the make-up of the 1.2m people employed by the UK National Health Service, working out how to deliver London’s £11bn transport capital investment programme and several high-profile organisation transformations in Europe while leading workforce planning for Deloitte in the UK.
